Sunday, March 27 | Bhumthang
In the 8th century Guru Rinpoche was invited by the king of Bhumthang to cure his illness which was found to be caused by local demons. Guru Rinpoche traveled to Bhumthang, entered a cave and meditated for there for three months, subduing the local demons and leaving his body imprint in rock inside the cave, thus the name Kurjey (Body Imprint) Lhakhang. On this practice day, everyone gathered with great devotion at the sacred site of Kurjey Lhakhang to offer the Ganachakra of the Rigdzin Thugthig. The practice was led by Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche and Umdze Tulku Ngawang Jigdral Kunga. The Mindrolling family, the monks and nuns of Mindrolling and all participants of the pilgrimage were present.
