The Mindrolling International sangha is deeply saddened to announce the parinirvana of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche who withdrew his consciousness on March 30, 2012. Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche was a great and beloved teacher and one of the pure lineage holders and meditation masters of the Kagyu lineage.
In 1986 Rinpoche established the new Benchen Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal, where Rinpoche spent his last remaining days. Rinpoche also served as the Dorje Lopön for the 16th Karmapa in Rumtek, India for 9 years after the 1959 invasion of Tibet. Rinpoche also traveled extensively transmitting and teaching the precious Buddhadharma to countless students, working tirelessly and unceasingly for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche has asked the worldwide Sangha of Mindrolling and Samten Tse to spend the coming days in performing prayers and offerings to this great master of our times. In accordance to Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche’s command, the Kudung will be cremated on May 18th 2012. At this time Kyabje Rinpoche is still in Thugdam.
